Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas (JCDA), our youth program for girls 6 through 18 (Juniorettes 6 - 10 and Juniors 11-18), was founded in 1926. We are pleased to have a junior court affiliated with our CDA court.
JCDA members have four basic goals operating under the motto of Message, Service and Community:
1. Develop ones character as a Christian
2. Learn to work for the good of others
3. Grow Spiritually
4. Be creative and flexible
JCDA is unlike other youth programs such as the Girl Scouts and American Girl. It offers our young ladies a great opportunity to engage themselves in spiritual growth, leadership, and service while they remain under the protective umbrella of our Catholic faith! CDA has a variety of annual scholarship programs from the local court level to our national JCDA scholarship that awards $1,000.00 annually to a JCDA member entering college. JCDA members are the present and the future of CDA, our Church, and society. JCDA in Texas has provided outstanding services to its members and has played an important role in the Catholic youth community. Throughout the school year our JCDA court meets regularly to create service projects, grow in their faith, and gain leadership skills.
