Sacramental Advantages

• Priests are required to provide funeral services for parishioners, but does so only as a courtesy for non-parishioners
• Need to be registered and have a home parish in order to request permission to receive sacraments outside your parish
• Serves as indicator as to where you should be receiving your sacraments:

Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Matrimony, etc.

Helps the Diocese and parish leadership assess the needs and growth pattern of the church

• Tracks ethnicity of parishioners (language and scheduling of Masses, programs, etc.)
• Record Sacramental information –

How many baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, etc. How many are Hispanic? Multi-racial? 

• Follow demographic trends and anticipate the needs of the parish population

Develop a sense of belonging, unity and ownership.   Be a part of the Body of Christ.
