REQUIREMENTS FOR BAPTISM FOR CHILDREN (6 years and under)
Requirements for parents who want to have their child (ren) baptized at Immaculate Conception are as follows:
1. Parents must be registered members of Immaculate Conception Church.
2.They must register to attend the pre baptismal class. (Can register online)
3. Must bring birth certificate to the church office when you come to set the date for baptism.
4. If parents do not live in Navarro County, they have to go to the classes at the church they attend and bring a letter giving them permission to baptize in this church.
The dates for baptisms are the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM in English. Baptismal date can be set once all requirements have been fulfilled.
REQUIREMENTS FOR GODPARENTS
Parents have the responsibility to seek people who are living their faith as it is mandate by the Church. Due to the great responsibility godparents assume, they need meet the following requirements:
1. They need to be registered members of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
2. Should Have received the sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Communion and Confirmation.
3. They should practice their faith by attending to mass and receiving the sacraments (communion and confession) regularly.
4. Be at least 16 years or older.
5. Only one Catholic person is needed. If they are two, it should be one man and one woman. A non-catholic person can stand as Christian Witness
6. If is a married couple, they should be married in the church and bring a certificate of marriage.
7. If godparents do not live in Navarro County, they need to attend classes at their church and bring a letter from their pastor giving them permission to baptize in this church.
